  Where were you on the a.m. of 9/11/01?

  i was at work -- a manager in a hospital that is the regional treatment center for one medical specialty...region includes nyc.

  someone came & grabbed me hard by the arm and pulled me into a room, where i saw every single mgr.

  sitting silently watching tv.

  I was at work. We had an engineer who used to come to fix and service some of our lab equipment who was notorious for telling stupid and sometimes really sick jokes. He'd just heard the news on his car radio as he was arriving at our place, so his first words were 'Have you heard a planes crashed into one of the twin towers?' - and as usual, we were waiting for the punchline, while he was pleading with us that this time he was actually telling the truth.

  We realised he was telling the truth when his wife called him on his mobile to tell him about the second one. There was a sense of disbelief/unreality about it which gradually turned to shock.

  i can't believe i am that old, and i don't feel it at all.

  i feel like i am 40..............but wish i looked 40!

  hahahhaha.. we are going to las vegas on monday, for my birthday, (our eldest son and his wife are coming too), so hoping i can forget how old i'm getting.

  is there anything you'd like to change about your appearance?.

  i'd like to be 2 inches taller with the same weight proportion.. i'd like to have nicer skin.. i'd like to be a little more muscular.. other than that, i'm not too unhappy with my looks.. all things the new system would have brought me..... .

  Five days of 'British weather' should clinch it for England

  No idea what'll happen if they have to play. I think it makes it more exciting when it's this close though - both sides are 'winners' in a sense because this series has raised the profile of the sport massively

  Well, I've tried to keep up with this thread as best I can, may have missed a couple of pages.

  Christmas is all about Jesus Christ.

  Hibie, you have to realise this is only true for Christians. There are many other festivals celebrated at or around the same time - Saturnalia, Yuletide, Hanukah, Diwali, Deepwali, Eid amongst many others. For some it isn't to celebrate any religious festival at all, but simply a holiday from work where they get time off to share with family and friends.

  Let it mean what it means to you, and let it mean to others what it means to them. That is embracing the spirit of them all. At the end of the day, the name of the season doesn't matter to everyone as much as embracing the spirit of it.

  p.s I think the X in X-ray symbolises the Greek Chi, as opposed to gamma rays and others.

  Maybe our pc councils in the UK aren't so wrong when they rename the whole season 'Winterval'
